HOS, 24-29 August-2026

The club will exhibit in occasion of the Hampshire Open Studios 2026 (HOS). For more information on the HOS, please browse to https://hampshireopenstudios.org.uk/welcome.

The club will exhibit at the Colne Avenue Baptist Church, in Millbrook, from Monday 24th through Saturday 29th August 2026, each day from 11 AM to 4 PM.

This is a great opportunity to come and meet the club members. Free entry and viewing. There will be artwork, greeting cards and mugs available for sales. Coffee, tea and other refreshments will be available for purchase locally.

24-AUG-2026 UPDATE

The Oaklands Art Club HOS exhibition was extraordinarily opened by the Lord Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Pat Evemy (see photos), followed by the visit of the Sheriff of Southampton, Councillor Kat Barbour, who enjoys graphic arts and is a fellow artist as well in another art group.

The club exhibited and sold their artwork at the BIG DAY OUT, at Mansel Park, in Millbrook.

It was a great day, which allowed us to display our “Made in Millbrook” artwork.

In this picture, Harriet is with her friend Kathy, near the painting “Both Grown In Millbrook”, which Harriet skillfully painted with oil pastels.

Today we displayed our artwork at the May Fair in Nursling, at the Nursling Recreation Ground. Chris, Harriet and William were also demoing on their easels. It was a lovely afternoon, spared by the rain and good exposure for our club. Here below some photos from the day:

On the last meeting of the autumn term, we had our regular “Show & Tell” evening, along with pre-Christmas refreshments, with plenty of delicious buffet food and drinks, including the very popular home made quiche by Ann-Marie! This is a normal activity at the end of each term. Each member shows what they have painted during the previous term weeks, explaining the inspiration and the techniques used. Other members comment accordingly, offering comments, encouragement and (always) compliments.
