Over the years, the club has undertaken various ‘big picture’ projects. The idea is to divide a photograph into a series of ’tiles’. Individual tiles are assigned to club members, together with a painting board. Each is then invited to create a painting of the tile in their medium of choice. The fun then comes when the final piece is assembled!
For the ‘Big Picture 2022’ project, we made a choice, from various candidate photographs, of a street market scene in York. The image was divided into twelve square tiles (see below).
The project progressed during the summer term.
As of October 2022, we are almost finished. Last week, we assembled the tiles (all bar one!!)…
And the final assembly – November 2022.
