Sadly, our friend and long-standing club member, Alan Stewart, died on July 2nd, aged 61.
Alan was held in much affection by us all. He was quiet, dignified, quirky and a person of great interest and knowledge.
Alan worked for the Ordnance Survey for many years as a cartographer. His drafting skills and meticulous eye for detail are apparent in his wonderful paintings, some of which are shown below.
In the last few years, Alan fought significant health challenges with good grace and humour, never complaining, but always maintaining interest in others.
God bless you Alan. Rest in peace. We will miss you greatly.
